On October 13 at 12pm ET, join us as we kick off Empire Creates, an ongoing virtual music festival series for SUNY Empire students. This session is built around pop music and the positive psychology of self-care, confidence, and resilience.

Facilitator Andrew Kirschner of Sonic Connections will guide you through music- and art-infused activities* that encourages you to support yourself when things get hard and push back on old beliefs about what you're capable of.

In this interactive session, we'll lean into artists like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, BTS, and more as an entry point into thought-provoking conversation around wellness.

Together, we'll creatively listen to music and explore questions like:
-What does your self-talk sound like on a good or bad day?
-What songs do you play during the hard moments in your semester?
-Where do your beliefs about your abilities come from?
-What are some of your accomplishments that you tend to forget about celebrating?

*No musical or artistic background is required. You won't be performing, analyzing songs, or showing off any artistic skill. Music and art are simply the creative bridge we use to get to the conversations that matter.
