The Inaugural Masquerade Competition

Empire's first-ever masquerade competition celebrates and examines the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of the masquerade tradition. This landmark event will provide a vibrant platform for exploring the rich heritage of masquerade through performance, scholarship, and visual artistry.

WHAT: The event will feature an interactive mask exibit, masquerade competition, keynote from Grammy award-winning master percussionist, Ayanda Ifadara Clarke, and lunch by Sylvia's Restaurant of Harlem.

If you are a currrent student who wishes to attend, but don't live in the New York City area (more than 100 miles), please indicate that in the appropriate space below. The Office of Student Engagement is offering travel grants for up to 10 students who wish to attend the Masquerade Competition.
Travel grants include one hotel room and partial travel reimbursement which is prorated based on your location. Reimbursements will be mailed out after the event.
