CAARES Reads: D/Annie Liontas' "Sex with a Brain Injury"
Join CAARES’ new neurodivergent reading series! Following the success of our annual neurodivergent author talks, CAARES Reads extends the conversation about neurodivergent representation and research through semester-long book club meetings kickstarted by a conversation with the author at CAARES Presents. After hearing from D/Annie Liontas in September, participants in CAARES Reads will read their memoir Sex with a Brain Injury: On Concussion and Recovery throughout the fall semester. We will gather to discuss the book on the first Thursday of the month, October through December. Book Club Meetings On October 1, we will discuss the first nine chapters of the book, from “The Life Cycle of a Concussion” through “On Anger.” On November 5, we will discuss the next seven chapters, from “Living in the Basement” through “Hit Like a Girl.” On December 3, we will discuss the final eight chapters, from “Probable Vulnerability” through “The Healing Algorithm.” A limited number of copies of the book are available for free to SUNY Empire students.
