Welcome to the Bluebird Books For Fun Book Club at SUNY Empire! We started our book club in early 2024 with a simple mission: to bring book lovers together and celebrate the joy of reading.

We meet every month on the 4th Wednesday from 7:00- 8:00 p.m., and we’d love for you to join us. Whether you're a lifelong reader or just discovering your love for books, our club is a friendly and inviting space for everyone.

Come share your thoughts, discover new favorites, and connect with fellow readers. We can’t wait to see you there!

Designed to help students’ creativity bloom, the Student Writers affinity group welcomes those who practice the craft of writing: background, genre, or experience notwithstanding. With writing prompts, resources for publication, literary discussions, and guidance from guest speakers, our aim is to create—and sustain—a nook where the writers of Empire State University can develop and share creative work in community. Writing does not have to be a solitary act; it often thrives when shared.

This group embraces any and all kinds of writing—everything that is defined by genre or inhabits its in-betweens. Storytelling is not confined to any one form—members can learn from and inspire each other across genres with the aim of refining their craft. Above all, we strive to provide a supportive writing community that nurtures growth, creativity, and curiosity.
